Who writes this stuff?

I try to keep my priorities in order: Jesus, my Andy, our children, everything else. I homeschool our boys, love to read almost all written words and have been challenged by the military life for 18 years. Right now my faulty human body is demanding a lot of attention. One day at a time, learning as much as possible every day and remembering to look for JOY when other things threaten to overwhelm.

My Blog Title Verse

"For the Lord gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
The Message translation puts it this way "God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding."

Writer's block

I seem to be suffering from a severe case of writer's block. So this post will simply be an update on my life.
On Tuesday my fabulous friend Mary, against all of her good sense, helped me pack some things up. I loaded our truck, which Andy had spent so much time under lately, all the way to the brim. My wonderful mommy drove it all the way to her house, while I controlled the heater and snacks. Strangely enough, no music was played the entire trip. If Andy had been driving, music would have been a central feature... hmmm. Just a random thing I noticed while typing this up.
We got in around midnight on Tuesday night. I had lunch with a wonderful friend, Todd, who was home from Korea on his (Army) midtour on Wednesday. The rest of the day was spent unpacking.
Today (Thursday) we went to water aerobics, where I got to spend time with a 92 year old wonder, who raised 4 daughters alone after her husband died, and who can still move in amazing ways! I was duly impressed. I joined the pool and plan to have fun with mom at water aerobics during the six months I am here with her.
Several hours were spent working on costuming for the upcoming ACT 1 production of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". If you live anywhere near Cartersville, GA, you really should come see this production. The costumes are going to be AMAZING!

Oh, small side note. On Tuesday morning I went to Chick Fil-A to get some boxes they had very nicely saved for me.
Mom and Mary and I decided to have some breakfast while we were there, of course. And, of course, Mom and I talked the whole time we were ordering. We talked about how we were going to use the boxes to pack up my stuff because Andy was deployed, and I was going to be moving in with Mom, and all that jazz. The operator happened to be the one taking our order, and he quite nicely gave it to us for free. And said "thank you for sharing your husband". So, my Valdosta friends, I just wanted to let you know that our local CFA is quite friendly toward the military. Be friendly toward them.

Andy got a letter from Canaan and Zion already. I am was very impressed by the speed of the mail delivery. Canaan was thrilled! I think he feels very connected to daddy now, since his letter has already arrived. (Andy was able to E-mail me, sort of... it is slightly complicated, and the internet is not working well, but one message has made it through!)
Mom and I mailed Andy fresh cookies today. We wrapped them really well. We'll see if they make the trip intact. I am concerned, but holding out hope! I happen to know that his parents sent him some Sharpies - I am so eager to see pictures of his creativity.

I will stop rambling now. Thanks for letting me share. I am hoping to be unpacked, and settled in, and back to normal really really soon.
Actually, forget that. When I discover what normal is, I'll let you know. I'm hoping to be back to something resembling the "me" that knows how to write something interesting to read really really soon.

I actually started crying when you talked about the Chick-fil-a operator giving y'all your food. I LOVE Chick-fil-a and the AMAZING people that God puts in place to run them. Now you got me crying cause I miss you so much. So glad that you were able to meet with Toddie, get an e-mail from Andy and everything!!!! I can't wait to meet this incredible 92 year old lady and work out with y'all. Speaking of working out if I'm going to keep up with her I better go get some exercise :)

I completely disagree with your assessment of having "writer's block." Your post was very interesting, touching, and nice. I am impressed with the Chick-fil-A people....they do a great job. You can bet McDonalds wouldn't be giving you any free food!!!!
So, I notice on Kelsey's post that she mentions coming home soon...when is that going to happen? I bet she is ready, it has been almost a year since she's been in the US.
Anyway, I will just ask you about that later :)
see ya soon!

None of your posts are boring.
And yeah, WHY did I help you leave me?????? How funny would it have been if I spent the morning going behind you and your mom UN-packing everything you put in boxes?? (o:

I quite enjoy reading what you write Bethany! I'm glad that Mary was able to help you. I agree, I think we have the best CFA ever! Although I discovered last night that Thomasville's play area is awesome.
