Who writes this stuff?

I try to keep my priorities in order: Jesus, my Andy, our children, everything else. I homeschool our boys, love to read almost all written words and have been challenged by the military life for 18 years. Right now my faulty human body is demanding a lot of attention. One day at a time, learning as much as possible every day and remembering to look for JOY when other things threaten to overwhelm.

My Blog Title Verse

"For the Lord gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
The Message translation puts it this way "God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding."

April Cookie Day

This morning my Mom was trying to explain the premise of April Fool's day to Canaan. They were trying to come up with a good "trick" for my Dad. For some reason though, Canaan didn't like the name of the day. He kept asking to change it.
"How about April Ice Cream day?"
"Can we say April Tuesday Day?"

Finally they decided to greet my dad (who usually leaves for work around 5:45, before any of us are awake, but had stayed late today - which was nice) with a morning surprise of "Papa, it is snowing outside!...

 April Cookie Day!!!"

Canaan was quite thrilled with himself, and I must say that I am pretty proud too.
I don't think he really had a problem with the word "fool", but I have never been a fan. That may have rubbed off on him - afterall, Matt. 5:22 says, "anyone who says, 'You Fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." I think the whole point of that verse is to teach us that KINDNESS is supposed to be our purpose.
I don't think that just saying "fool" will damn you to hell. I just think that the idea is that we should focus on lifting each other up, rather then tearing each other down.
I am so glad that idea has rubbed off on my five year old already! He is so observant!

I have some pictures from this weekend, but I will have to return to them later. For now, here are some cute ones from yesterday.

Zion playing "Go Fish"

A round of "Don't Break the Ice"

My cheerful "Crazy Eights" player

Quite a team, Noni and Zi

... Even when one of them is in a headlock

All worn out, after playing hard all day long.
This was about 7:15 pm, and he just completely crashed,
between the couch and the coffee table!

Hope your day is blessed, and not filled with too many foolish things.
 Happy April Cookie Day!

That is so fun! My kids didn't really get it later...they get saying "JUST KIDDING!" instead of April Fool's last night when we were explaining it.
kids are so funny.
