Who writes this stuff?

I try to keep my priorities in order: Jesus, my Andy, our children, everything else. I homeschool our boys, love to read almost all written words and have been challenged by the military life for 18 years. Right now my faulty human body is demanding a lot of attention. One day at a time, learning as much as possible every day and remembering to look for JOY when other things threaten to overwhelm.

My Blog Title Verse

"For the Lord gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
The Message translation puts it this way "God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding."

Renaissance Festival

A little piece of art, to start the show off right.

Fair Rapunzel, let down your golden hair...

Last Sunday we spent the afternoon going back in time. We entered a gate that took us through a time warp, and let me tell you, we enjoyed every minute of it.
If you have never been to the Georgia Renaissance Festival, and you live within driving distance, well, I suggest you give it a try.
They have live entertainment going on constantly. Yes, there are "shows" on a regular basis, but there are also just people walking around in the "streets" in full costume, in full mannerism, all day long. As we left, we saw the King and he threw my children some jewels. They cheerfully gathered them up, and stashed them in the pirate treasure bags that my Mom had acquired for them earlier. Somehow, that was a perfect ending to the day. Canaan has carried one of his "jewels" (one of those things that looks like a marble, but is flat) around for days now. Perhaps that bit of free nothingness will be his strongest memory of the day?

We saw a pirate show...

and were fascinated with pirates for a good part of the day.

Uncle Kevin (more pictures at this link) and Noni bought several pirate swords and guns, so we got to play outside the sword shop for awhile.

Zion and his dragon.
Canaan got one too, and then Uncle Kevin won a bigger one for the boys in a drawing, but I somehow don't have a picture of that one.

Canaan got a full archery set.

Zion got a sword and shield.
and practiced his battle skills on his Noni.
My knight, my pirate, and myself as a fair princess! Plus, look at that turtle! Isn't it beautiful?!
And here is the final shot of the day... Emilee and I have our "jangle skirts" on, and the boys look like the are ready to fall asleep on their feet.

A fun time was had by all!

You got some great shots of the boys!! That was so much fun!! It is nice having the boys around because it makes you go and do things that are fun because you have a great excuse to do them!! (Plus I just like having my nephews around of course!!) Fare thee well kind lady and I pray that I shall see thee again soon!

"A fun time was had by all!" That CRACKS me up! Reminds me of a high society news article from the 50s. :) Can't wait to go. I really like those "jangle skirts" super cute! I may have to check the price on that one!

I love to go to the Renaissance Festival. It is always fun and usually I can find some pretty good food!
