Who writes this stuff?

I try to keep my priorities in order: Jesus, my Andy, our children, everything else. I homeschool our boys, love to read almost all written words and have been challenged by the military life for 18 years. Right now my faulty human body is demanding a lot of attention. One day at a time, learning as much as possible every day and remembering to look for JOY when other things threaten to overwhelm.

My Blog Title Verse

"For the Lord gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
The Message translation puts it this way "God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding."

A short and hilarious story

A friend of mine was over the other day and shared with me a story about her daughter that is just begging to be passed along. Oh, the things that a just turned 11 year old can think to say...

 "Mom, what is a Presbyterian?"
(wondering where that came from...) "Well, they are just a denomination of church group, like Baptists, or Methodists. They are pretty much like us"
(very questioningly) "Well, why do they get their own place to cross the road?"

She had misread Pedestrian Crossing - just catching parts of the sign and assuming the rest.
Her mom asked her later, and she confirmed that she had been pretty confused, and perhaps a little angry that the Presbyterians got their own place to cross the road... why not the other denominations?
What makes the story even better is that when her mom said she was going to tell me that story, her response was, "Oh, okay, but wait until I'm not in the room, so I don't turn crimson."

 Oh, what a vocabulary~

So, all you Presbyterians out there... go take advantage of your special crosswalks, and think happy thoughts!
