Who writes this stuff?

I try to keep my priorities in order: Jesus, my Andy, our children, everything else. I homeschool our boys, love to read almost all written words and have been challenged by the military life for 18 years. Right now my faulty human body is demanding a lot of attention. One day at a time, learning as much as possible every day and remembering to look for JOY when other things threaten to overwhelm.

My Blog Title Verse

"For the Lord gives wisdom. From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
The Message translation puts it this way "God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding."

Happy Birthday Canaan

Six years ago, right now, I looked like this...

(this is actually the week before I delivered... false alarm)
I did not truly understand the amazing, wonderful gift that I was about to receive. I was excited about giving birth for the first time, but I really didn't know what I was taking on. How absolutely he would change my life for the better.

Just four weeks later, Canaan was happily passed around to nearly every relative we have at his Aunty Em and Uncle Kevin's wedding.

Time flew by, his daddy deployed, then returned and we were a family again for his first birthday.

By his second birthday, Daddy had shipped out for a year long tour in Korea... but we didn't let that slow us down!

(Uncle Kevin teaching him to ride his first bike)
On his third birthday, Canaan was a proud big brother, and had a very newly returned (from Korea) daddy.

Zion was fascinated by that hat!
Sadly, at this exact moment, I can't really even remember his fourth birthday. I am pretty sure that Andy flew home from Iraq the day AFTER his fourth birthday, so we didn't celebrate it until late.

His fifth birthday was for Lego's, a big boy bike, and for planning a big event, because just 9 days later Uncle Travis joined the family.

Canaan was the Bible Carrier for Kelsey and Travis

And now, our baby is six. Technically, not until 1:35am California time, which is about two hours from now... but still, he is six. My little knight in shining armor.

He's had a busy little life already, but seriously, Where has the time gone?

The partying doesn't start until Sunday afternoon, but let me tell you, plenty of planning is going into it. This birthday will not be one to be quickly forgotten!
